Rallying behind what works is the mind's flow this morning. I got up, eliminated without too much effort, stretched my body and thoughts, and report that all seems well. Too often, the focus is on what isn't working. There is always something in this category. But I find that focusing on what I don't have only seems to grow this group. The heart is beating to beat the band; the blood is pumping life to the extremities faithfully. The ears still pick up the drone of the cicadas & the rustling of agitated leaves. The eyes can still spot a hummingbird flitting from violet tree flowers. The gray-snooted dog and I are blessed.

one bang-up follows

I don’t wanna watch that
because it already happened,
and happens inside me when I do.
Our culture is enamored with
the psychology of observing life
rather than living it.
Why do we love to watch evil?
Why do we love bloodshed and pain?
as long as it’s happening to someone else;
as long as we’re not the one–
if we just watch and feel,
what we witness isn’t real,
but then find out the hard way
that we cannot escape
the realities we construct
from virtual feelings.
