It Started With One Bag

walnuts in the shell
the whole bag tossed on the lawn
gray and black squirrels

scratching sound porch door
the squirrel teeth to chew more
pantry is empty

squirrels lined a row
on the patio long bench
the fans of the house

old peanut butter
tails shaking the eyes bugging
squirrel siesta

hundreds of squirrels
with plans to pirate the house
squirrel brigands rise

[don’t swallow their truck]

jawing on the truck
dropped by flocks that twerp you suck
self hampers the stuck

not siesta duck
pummeled by billy buck
boned muckety-muck

pedants run amok
nabbling like the woodchuck
with pluck, buck the schmuck

but tail do not tuck
or you, they punt as their puck
to hock round their ruck

Spring Sun

the dark spring morning
ambulance siren screaming
hoarfrost drops flower

spring birds tap the glass
nesting grass and twigs falling
the icu bed

the lungs filled with phlegm
septic shock from pneumonia
the spring sun lifts up

1 foot in earth-bed
pipes of fluids pierce the veins
breathing the spring day
