The Four Flags Of Easter

14 Apr
going to the store
drove the blue van out of the basement
car garage
look to the left on the side bank going up
around the stack of cement blocks
four daffodils like cheerful suns
standing tall on new green stems
from the vaporized leftovers of winter
announcing the resurrection of spring
winter like a windy guest
refusing to go with the baggage of
death of frost snow and ice
but the daffies beamed easter is here
shining their light into the heartland
flowering my sunny green siesta
