Tree Peepers

13 Apr
twenty fuchsia eyes stare from the hibiscus tree
I stare back at the center the snow white bloom that strikes me
as out of place, the din of the cicada
siesta peepers scour the tree's trunks
to spot their metal multi lens goggle eyes but find none
not visually, occupying vibrationally
seeing them without eyes
as a child
