the cell phone a brick

looking to the window
to the porch bright with sunshine
a blue sky umbrella day
for a double siesta

no sign of the white kia car
no sound, a faint bird

put the indoor wilted chinese evergreen plant
on the wood patio bench
gift from her deceased mother

the yellow green leaves are dead, snipped off
with the thumbnail
the green are rubbery but may stand again

go vacuum the rug
