Loitering Poets

25 Mar
On a sidewalk bench in Nashville, Indiana,
the September full moon
2 faces
children as we sat
near sleeping curio shops
holding each other
upturned
spotting the rabbit

our love was the moon
as sure
whose pull lifted the heart's tide
& sweep the surroundings between
the gaps of
our rocky crags

the one reflection
under the lamps
that midnight sidewalk
