The Face On the Doorknocker

16 Mar
the person bound head to foot
hidden by chains, locks, hungry denomination money boxes
buried for a thousand years times two
confined concealed

rendered powerless like
Marley's ghost by the pile
of colored windows walled steeple edifices
sacerdotal doctrinal paraphernalia
and galling dead-dogma

the person came to snap the chains
but is zip tied by man made ideologies philosophies
and contrived requirements

harried by church-ianity's endless perennial fads
novelties changing the bread of life into
death-dealing processed junk food spiked with hfcs

who once whipped the business
out from his father's home run now by
hoarders who put the owner
out with the cat

but if the whisper and knock
the face on the doorknocker
open to the same
today as yesterday
up to eternity
