Christmas Glow

05 Dec
lying under the golden band
of light the Yule tree cast,
unclothed and unashamed
with a glow unsurpassed--
ourselves were fitly framed,
spent desires wholly tamed,
& by our royal ring
the tinseled edges glittered
like star-bursts falling down
upon our exposed bodies
that rest upon the ground
never a scene fitter
could describe the reason of
this season of celestial love
that beamed down
from above

the wild weather outside the pane
of glass reflecting thee,
shielded the ardent feeling
of two made into "we" --
& liquid light unsealing,
to open orbs to see
two to one revealing--
  the mystic
Christmas tree
