The Jewel in the Lotus

20 Apr
trees spatter with the bluest sky
my thought clatters with them,
self-inflicted griefs are the worst

the blues stab my arrant eyes
transforming my affairs cloudless
checks me, pierces me alert--

why should I be bothered
by what you think of me(?)
our fight is an illusion
what I am is
what I choose,
only I can decide for me--

did you let me
notice the sky today(?)
do I lack your permission(?)
but it paraded through regardless--

filtered by a billion leaves exhaling
I, too, expire you to inhale
the various stripes of me

you are but a painted tree
in the wide-angle scenery
of my own jewel
in the lotus

the holiday wealth
of an expansive existence
during this revolving orbit
of my Solar Day
