Morning Zazen

19 Mar

wake up
go to the computer
stare
open the blinds
stare
go to the bathroom
stare
grunt
wipe
back to the computer
look at the news?
no, a buzz-kill
stomach growls
*toot
boil water for tea
wash face
brush teeth
shave off stubble
put on underarm deoderant
steep teabag
put in two slices of toast
sit again
try thinking
don’t want to think
try to think again
stare
sip tea
thawing a bit
sip tea
*realization
it’s another day
time to do something
can’t really figure what
nothing seems remarkable
sit down again
sip more tea
alone
silent
munch on tasteless toast
the stomach burns
head hurts
bones feel tired
it’s another day
Whatever the somethingth
blah
listen to sounds
cars
the computer fan
the rattling of the radiator
cars & trucks sloshing by–
but no birds
nothing really
nothing
not
a
flipping thing–
just me
because
this moment
life is like watching
a sinking ship
as
I sit
and stare

..

Life can be like watching a sinking ship, certainly depends on the perspective. I suppose there are varying ones depending on the day.
Thanks for the grunt and wipe part 😂
